Peter Singer
Peter leverages his 35 years of industry experience to oversee operations and sales, while providing the vision for ongoing growth.

Peter graduated with a BASc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto, He worked at Shell Canada as a Field Engineer in the marketing department and completed an MBA from York University (now known as the Schulich School of Business), at the same time.

He joined TLS in 1977, working his way through several positions before becoming President in 1986 and CEO in 1999. When TLS sold its retail brokerage operations to Acosta in 2002, Peter was appointed as the President of Acosta Canada which was in addition to his responsibilities at TLS. Peter continued in his role with Acosta Canada until 2006 when he returned to TLS on a full time basis.

Peter has been very active in the industry, acting as a board member and, in many cases chairing many committees such as the GS1 Canada, Ontario Food Brokers Association, Canadian Food Brokers Association, Association of Sales and Marketing Companies of the US, and Canadian Grocer Magazine Editorial Board.

Among his accomplishments, Peter is exceptionally proud to have been awarded the prestigious Golden Pencil Award in 2008 from the Food Industry Association of Canada.

Peter Wagner
As Chief Financial Officer, Peter oversees the back-office functions of TLS and Emblem Logistics including, finance, information technology, customer service, treasury and risk management, human resources, new business integrations, and merger & acquisitions.

He also oversees the retail broker management department providing clients with national syndicated sales and spending management services.

Peter’s corporate objective has been to collectively build a seamless department through systems and individuals, leveraging the uniqueness of each business unit to deliver ‘best-in-class’ services to clients and customers at cost effective rates.

Peter joined TLS in 1988 following his role as Manager of Corporate General Ledger at Nestle Canada. Prior to that, he worked at RJR MacDonald and Clarkson Gordon (now Ernst & Young). Peter earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1982.

Rick Britton

Rick Britton
Rick is responsible for information technology and value chain excellence including, customer service and daily operations of TLS’ warehouse, Emblem Logistics.

From 1997-1999, he was Director of Business Development for Information Access specializing in consultative selling of vendor managed inventory, ecommerce and supply chain EC solutions.

Prior to Information Access, Rick was Vice President, Administrative & Information Systems for over 20 years at one of Canada’s largest sales and marketing companies, responsible for information technology, logistics and customer service.

Rick serves on the Canadian GS1 Board of Directors and the FCPC Supply Chain Committee. He has also served as Co-Chair of the ECR Technology Committee, and as Chair of the Food & Drug EDI Users Group.

Over the past 30 years, Rick has been involved in sales, marketing and value chain management for hundreds of partners in the consumer packaged goods business.

Carl Marut
Prior to joining TLS in 1998, Carl worked for Oshawa Foods/Sobeys from 1986 to 1998 starting as a grocery clerk at store level, eventually working his way up to replenishment analyst for all store banners within the Sobeys’ network.

Carl is responsible for managing the operations for customer service, replenishment and forecasting for all TLS clients.

Carl brings 25 years of grocery retail experience to table and fully enjoys the challenge of servicing both the trade and our clients.

Dave Hodson

Director of Finance

Dave Hodson
Dave oversees the business managers who are the key client service providers for TLS.

Dave’s department is responsible for coordinating with all parts of the organization and our broker partners to ensure proper execution of our clients’ strategy in the marketplace. This includes management reporting and analysis internally as well as externally to our clients, trade-spend management, and logistics cost management.

In addition to client services, Dave’s department is responsible for key corporate functions including taxation, insurance, customs, financial reporting and general accounting functions.

Prior to joining TLS in 1999, Dave came from a background in public accounting, working for Grant Thornton LLP for three years. Dave has a degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Carol Reed
Carol represents a wide range of leading ingredient suppliers that are technically innovative and highly ethical. These values have allowed TLS to remain an industry leader in the sales and marketing of food ingredients.

Carol joined TLS in November of 1993 as a Sales Associate in the Foodservice Division for the Greater Toronto Area. She moved to the Industrial Division within TLS as the prospect of selling to the manufacturing sector represented a challenging new opportunity for professional growth.

As of the year 2000, Carol has worked closely with Canadian manufacturer’s R&D and Purchasing departments. Through project assessment and creative collaboration she has been able to supply ingredient based solutions to TLS customers.

Carol is a member of the Glutamate Association, Institute of Food Technologists and also a member of the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology(CIFST). She has been a board member of the Ontario CIFST and has served as Marketing Director.

Giulia Oppedisano

Senior VP – Private Label

Giulia Oppedisano brings a 15 years experience in Private Label at TLS, she is the heads up a group of talented individuals with the perfect blend of academic and emotional intelligence, combined with solid relationships with all retailers across Canada.

Giulia represents values of team player, builds on innovative and trustworthy relationships. Giulia joined TLS in 2002 as admin and learned all accounts, ins and outs of our suppliers/retailers, she then moved into a junior sales position in 2008 and gradually took on more accounts. Giulia became senior director in 2016 and now VP in 2017.

David Singer

Vice President of Business Development

David Singer
David’s role in Business Development is to work with current and prospective clients with the aim to mutually and sustainably grow their business.

David’s responsibilities include sales broker management, private label sales as well as assisting with planning the company’s long-term strategic direction.

David joined TLS in 2013 following a 12 year career in successive sales roles at the Pepsi Bottling Group, Acosta Sales & Marketing, Kimberly-Clark and Procter & Gamble. During that period David earned his MBA from the Schulich School of Business.

Representing the fourth generation of the Singer family involved at TLS, David has been close to the business for many years and is excited to continue to drive its legacy as it moves into its second 100 years of existence.

Mahesh Pohoomull

Mahesh Pohoomull
Mahesh has over 25 years of experience in the CPG industry that ranges in scope from Sales and retail team management to building and developing businesses.

Prior to joining TLS, Mahesh worked in sales functions both Domestically and Internationally giving him exposure to a variety of markets. The combination of the experience in both export markets along with North American ones provides him with a distinctive advantage of utilizing best practices and creative solutions in a strategic big picture scenario.

Since joining TLS in 2008, he has worked with brokers on the Perfetti Van Melle business across all trade channels and regions in the Canadian retail landscape to ensure sales and distribution objectives are met. He also is responsible for implementing the client’s strategy for the brand portfolio. He has a wealth of sales/ trade knowledge, specifically in the confectionery industry which serves him well with the PVM line of products.

Claude Charlebois

Industrial and Corporate Brand Sales Representative

Claude Charlebois has graduated in 1978 with a BA in marketing from the HEC ( École des Hautes Études Commerciales). Claude joined TLS in 1980 working his way thru several positions such as sales representative and then director of sales of industrial sales, food service ,deli, produce areas in the province of Québec.

Claude was on the board of directors of HRSA (Hotel and restaurant supplier association) and president of this association in 1994-1995 and is a current member of the Canadian institute of food science and technology for the Quebec branch.

In 2003, Claude took over the of direction of Private label sales and Industrial sales as well as broker management responsibilities in the province of Québec
